As a parent, few things can compare to the joy of watching your kids grow and flourish. When my daughter turned thirteen, I welcomed her into her teenage years with excitement but also trepidation. 

After all, navigating the tumultuous waters of adolescence isn't easy for anyone! But as it turns out, what I've learned from my teenager about connection has been even more valuable than any textbooks or parenting advice could have made me prepared for. 

Not only has she taught me invaluable lessons on friendship and empathy; but helped me build stronger relationships with others in ways that extend far beyond our family dynamics.
